We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer with a focus on software (SW) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing and validating software applications and systems in real-world environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and quality. This role requires occasional travel up to 40% of work time and close co-operation with customers, partners, and the entire product organization.

Job summary:

You will work in close collaboration with the whole Product Organization. You will have the responsibility for conducting field tests on software applications and systems, gathering and analyzing data, troubleshooting issues, and preparing detailed reports. You will also collaborate with design, development, and quality assurance teams to ensure software meets specified requirements and standards.

Your role

More specifically, as a Test Engineer, you will:

  • Conduct Field Testing: Perform comprehensive field tests on software applications and systems to evaluate their performance under various conditions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data from field tests to identify issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software-related issues encountered during field testing.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of test results, including observations, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, development, and quality assurance teams to ensure software meets specified requirements and standards.
  • Compliance: Ensure all software testing complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to testing methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy +Introduce and use test automation where feasible.
  • Support with Product Support and Demo Activities: Provide your support for product support activities and demo activities.

What we’re looking for

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of software testing tools and frameworks, data analysis software, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience in software testing, field testing, or a related role.
  • Experience with a range of software applications and systems relevant to our industry.
  • Experience and eye on software usability
  • Basic understanding of hardware functionality

Required aptitudes

  • Very good interpersonal, teamworking, and collaboration skills as well as capability to work in international business environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Systems thinking.
  • Open minded, analytical and results oriented.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience: Experience in software testing, automation testing, field testing, or a related role.
  • Language requirement: English (fluent in written and spoken) - a must. Finnish - a plus.
