Summary Description
Reporting to the Global Operations Director, the Corporate Purchasing Director is responsible for designing and implementing effective purchasing strategies to minimize costs while considering risks and ensuring quality. He develops negotiation strategies, assesses risks, and concludes advantageous agreements for the company. He works closely with other departments such as product development, production, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing objectives with those of the company. He leads and supports a team of buyers by providing training and mentoring to establish a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
The Corporate Purchasing Director monitors key performance indicators related to commodity costs, suppliers, and purchasing efficiency. He analyzes these measures to identify opportunities for improvement and to report on the impact of his actions.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy and purchasing policies.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, with a focus on negotiating advantageous contracts.
- Develop and communicate performance objectives related to the business processes under his responsibility.
- Lead the team to achieve performance objectives.
- Lead, support, and ensure the development of team members according to best practices in supplier negotiation and ensure compliance with agreements and effective collaboration with suppliers.
- Ensure the digital transformation of processes and the supply chain through the use of emerging technologies.
- Ensure vigilance in compliance with new supplier selection criteria and implement a constant action plan for reducing purchase prices.
- Ensure the resilience and agility of the supply chain.
- Provide front-line support to the purchasing teams of manufacturing and distribution plants.
- Deploy the ESG strategy and requirements with our suppliers.
- Stay abreast of industry and supplier developments to identify opportunities for improvement, savings, and risk reduction, anticipating market trends related to our supply network
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of business and manufacturing processes as well as supply chains of high-tech companies in the field of electronics, optics, or mechanics.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify cost reduction opportunities and implement effective procurement strategies.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or any other related field in supply chain management, a professional certification would be considered a plus.
- Relevant experience: 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in similar management positions within a high-tech manufacturing company, ideally specializing in electronics, optics, or instrumentation.
- Experience in an international company will be an asset
- Experience in Asian and Mexican markets will be an asset
- Language requirement: Bilingual (French – English)
