Job Summary


The Product Line Manager (PLM) of Integrated Photonics Testing is the critical link between EXFO’s Research & Development (R&D) team and our customers, particularly those involved in developing photonic integrated circuits (PIC). In collaboration with the Integrated Photonics Solution Manager, the PLM deeply understands customer testing needs and EXFO’s current PIC testing capabilities. Beyond business development, the PLM shapes the direction of the test and measurement equipment development roadmap, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of PIC solutions and EXFO's MDR (Manufacturing, Design, and Research) business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage PIC testing product lines, including probe station instrumentation, automation software, and integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Solution Manager and other product line managers within the MDR team to enhance test solution offerings and define relevant roadmaps.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans that align with the strategic and financial objectives of the business unit, with full P&L responsibility.
  • Identify customer operational challenges and define product roadmaps in partnership with EXFO’s R&D tech leader, ensuring long-term business growth.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to create impactful marketing campaigns aimed at strengthening EXFO’s market position in PIC testing and increasing market share.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations with customers to support their technology roadmaps and next-generation product developments.

 

Technical Skills Required

  • Expertise in optical test methods and practices, with a deep understanding of the latest developments in integrated photonics.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including customers, sales, marketing, and R&D teams.

 

Profile

  • Experience in R&D or as a researcher, with a background in product management or product design in telecoms or photonics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally (~20% of the time).

 

Key Competencies

  • Extensive experience in product management, marketing, and a strong technical understanding of PICs.
  • Understanding of test and measurement requirements for integrated photonics, including applications for components, transceiver modules, network equipment, and research labs.
  • Proficiency in working with business partners, customers, and internal teams (sales, marketing, R&D) to drive business and technical objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of technologies applied in Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC), optical components, and communication systems.
  • Self-motivated, fast learner, capable of working autonomously while planning and executing product strategies to grow EXFO’s MDR test and measurement solutions portfolio.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in French and English.
