Senior Optical Technician
Quebec, Quebec, CA
Under the responsibility of the Optical R&D Group Leader, the optical technician works on projects on the opto-mechanical and opto-electronic aspects of our automated measurement solutions on chips and optical wafers. He is, among other things, responsible for setting up and qualifying customer solutions. Depending on experience and projects, he also participates in product design in collaboration with other team members. He collaborates with the Manufacturing Engineering team to transfer the product to production and provides technical support for the production team and the installation team.
Your role
More specifically, the Optical Technician must:
- Participate in the design of optical subsystems
- Identify and qualify new optical parts and search for second sources
- Establish assembly procedures
- Plan and execute optical product qualification
- Provide support to production engineering
- Write the appropriate documentation
- Provide first-level technical support for production and installation teams
If necessary, the incumbent of this position performs any other job-related task.
What we are looking for
Technical skills
- Excellent knowledge in integrated optics and semiconductor.
- Good knowledge of optics (conventional and fiber optics) and optoelectronics (laser, detector).
- Mastery of measurement tools commonly used in optical and electro-optical tests and measurements.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of industry norms and standards is an asset.
- Be comfortable with the Windows environment and the Office suite.
- Be comfortable with a software solution in development, frequent interactions with the development team.

Requirements
Education: DEC in physics, electronics or otther relevant program
Relevant experience: a minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to the job.
Language requirement: French and English (spoken – basic and written)
