Accounting Technician Mexico

Job summary:
The Junior Finance Analyst will support the Finance Manager in the daily accounting, reporting and internal control activities for EXFO Products, in Mexico. This role is key in improving process efficiency, ensuring compliance with local and corporate requirements, supporting IMMEX activities, and strengthening monthly closing and audit readiness.
- Based full-time in the Queretaro factory;
- Manage the full process of accounts payable and expense reports;
- Prepare journal entries, supporting documentation and weekly bank reconciliations;
- Ensure that intercompany accounts are balanced;
- Monitor cash flow on a bi-monthly basis;
- Perform monthly budget variation analysis;
- Improve the monitoring of fixed assets at the accounting level;
- Oversee communications between the company and the government and understand the fiscal of finance issues;
- Collaborate with the head office team for any relevant information request or improvement;
- Implement and maintain a proper internal control system in accordance with EXFO standards;
- Ensure compliance of supporting documentation, including obtaining appropriate approvals;
- Any other procedures necessary for the preparation of the financial statements.
If necessary, you will perform any other tasks that may fall within the scope of this job. You will have to communicate in English with your colleagues based outside of Mexico. This is a new position for EXFO's company, based in Mexico.
What we’re looking for:
Technical skills
- Excellent knowledge of Excel software and generally accepted accounting principles;
- Experience in a multi-currency environment;
- Experience in a multi-company environment is an asset;
- Experience in an IMMEX company is an asset;
- Knowledge of SAP accounting software is a definite asset.

Must have:
Pertinent experience:
3 years above related work experience is preferred
Experience in manufacturing or maquila environments preferred.
Language requirements:
Able to communicate in Spanish and English (read, write and speak)
Education:
Relevant degree in the finance field
Any other combination of experience/studies will be considered.
