Job summary
- As a System Engineering Specialist in the Research & Development department, you will play a significant role in producing high quality technical requirement specifications for new products and features in our Network Instruments Portfolio
- In active collaboration with the product line management team, identify and understand the customer use cases & market needs
- Define the most innovative and appropriate solutions taking into considerations any design constraints
- Provide technical support and guidance to the development, product support and marketing teams
What you’ll do
- Act as a resident technical subject matter expert
- Conduct domain technology scouting & follow industry standards
- Produce technology studies on emerging topics of interest for the business
- Define new test products, features & methodologies
- Produce detailed technical specifications for the development teams
- Ensure the conceptual and technical integrity of the product/feature requirements
- Responsible for defining user stories, managing, and prioritizing development teams’ backlog
- Fulfil the role of Technical Product Owner as a member of Agile development teams
What we’re looking for
Technical skills:
- Excellent knowledge of transport/datacom networking protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, 1588 PTP, OTN, CPRI, eCPRI
- Excellent knowledge of telecommunication & mobile networks architectures & applications
- Familiar with applicable industry standards from IEEE, IETF, ITU, ANSI, OIF, O-RAN
- Familiar with telecommunication test equipment & methodologies
- Excellent technical writing abilities
Required aptitudes:
- High interest in emerging telecommunication technologies
- Demonstrated experience in specification of complex systems
- Capability to digest, interpret and adapt industry standards to the test & measurement market
- Capability to develop innovative ideas/concepts
- Excellent analysis and synthesis skills
- Capability to handle complex problems and situations
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Comfortable working in a multi-cultural, distributed environment
- A strong team focus with an inherently collaborative mindset
- High sense of responsibility, autonomy and efficiency
- Capable of multi-tasking
Must have
Pertinent experience: 5-10 years' experience in the telecommunication industry
Language requirements: English and French
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
