About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Software Intern to join our front-end development team. This internship focuses on enhancing accessibility features across our web applications, ensuring inclusive user experiences for all. You will work primarily with Angular and React, contributing to UI components and accessibility compliance. Exposure to Java and Node.js is considered an asset, as occasional backend modifications may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the front-end team to design and implement accessible UI components using Angular and React
- Conduct accessibility audits and implement improvements based on WCAG guidelines
- Assist in testing and validating accessibility features across browsers and devices
- Participate in code reviews and agile development processes
- Support integration with backend services, occasionally modifying Java or Node.js code
- Document accessibility standards and contribute to internal best practices
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Angular and React
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, ARIA)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in inclusive design and user experience
Nice to Have
- Exposure to backend technologies such as Java and Node.js
- Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse)
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

Must Have
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in software or computer engineering or equivalent
- Bilingual (French and English, oral and written)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
